Koinonia Primary Care We exist to provide access to quality primary and mental health services for the underserved in West Hill and surrounding neighborhoods in the Capital Region of New York State. To teach and model to medical students the art and sciences of medicine so they maintain their altruistic values of caring for others with compassion, commitment, and competency. Our clinic, Koinonia Primary Care, serves as a model provider of healthcare to an underserved community by providing healthcare resources that include the healing power of prayer and the highest quality of conventional medical treatment. Partnering with Compassion in Action, Koinonia Primary Care seeks to assist in leading the development, restoration and transformation of a community. We value every patient as a unique and special creation regardless of economic status, social standing, religious or cultural beliefs. Emphasis is on programs that provide preventive healthcare, healthcare education, healthcare advocacy and empowerment so that individuals, families, and the community can partner in healthy and whole living. |

News Jun 20, 2008 Compassion in Action asks you to join us in support of Susan Nabukenya. Susan is a 14-year-old Ugandan girl who arrived in Boston in early May 2008 for life-saving plastic surgery at Boston Shriners. Four years ago Susan was burned from her chest to her toes when she stepped too close to a cooking fire and her kerosene-stained dress ignited. She has lived with burn contractures and open wounds since then and has been forced to drop out of school. She had lost all hope. Until now. Join us as we journey with Susan towards a brighter future. To follow Susan's story, go to http://www.teamsusansstory.blogspot.com/.
